I had a nice conversation with Peter Piconi yesterday who guides the San Diego Bay and Beaches in Southern Cal.
He has 3 different boats he uses and is near opening his own fly shop right on the water in the bay.
He has a flats boat for fishing the shallows of the bay and a large Jones Brothers center console for going outside.
Peter says they have pretty good fly fishing in the salt water down there almost 12 months of the year.
His new fly shop will be "So-Cal Fly Fishing".
If you are headed south I would highly recommend calling Peter for a day on the bay with him.
