I guess I need to spey cast from a friend's driftboat whilst wearing a smelly tee-shirt to start catching fish on the Deschute?!

You have to "hold your mouth right" too.

From about 1965 to 1985 I thought I was a mainly a Steelheader (~20 years). I fished Nor Cal, Oregon, Washington and British Columbia in many different rivers with some really good anglers and guides.

The big west coast drought of the late 1970s really killed the Steelheading in Nor Cal.

Then around 1985 I started traveling with groups to the tropical saltwater flats destinations. I've been doing that for the past 20 plus years.

Now I have been going again to the Klamath and the Grand Ronde so I guess I am trying to be a Steelheader again?

I try to promote classic Steelheading (swinging flies) and shallow saltwater flats fishing so some of my customers can experience what I have been able to in my lifetime.
