Thinking of heading up to the north coast next thursday for a few days. Likely I'll be fishing from the Gualala north, maybe up through the eel. I know there are a few rivers in that area which should be getting into shape by then. Anybody know what's going on up through that stretch of water. I know all the rivers fairly well. just trying to find someone with a little more first hand knowledge...

Send me a PM if you prefer to not advertise. I understand everyones secrecy issues with the quieter north coast streams, as I am on the central coast and have to deal with the same things when the fish are in  . A point in the right direction would save me a bunch of time.

Thanks!

For the Russian, Gualala and Garcia rivers I would check with 'King's Sports & Tackle' on the Russian river in Guerneville and/or the 'Western Sport Shop' in Santa Rosa.

For further up on the north coast I would call the 'Eureka Fly Shop' for the Mattole, Eel, Van Duzen, Mad, Klamath, Smith rivers etc.

I was on the Garcia on Friday morning and 5:30 am as the tide started to go out. By 7am there were 10 guys on the water with me. By Noon whne I left, there were 17 cars in the parking lot. Holy Sh*t. I musy have been there on the right day, first green water day in a little while. The steelhead I saw were evading the harbor seals that had come up river.....

Anybody catch fish on the gualala this weekend?
