David,
Just for clarification, was the spill on the Middle Fork Eel or South Fork Eel? Redway is just outside of Garberville a mile or so on the SF Eel and the sewage treatment plant for both towns is just across the river from Redway. Thanks in advance for any more news you may have on this topic. Pat

David,
Thanks for that link. I jumped to the conclusion that it was a spill from the sewage treatment plant at Redway. I just spoke with Darren Brown @ Brown's Tackle in Garberville. Darren said a septic tank pumping truck went off Hwy. 101 at the Sylvandale bridge, 6-7 miles North of Garberville. The driver is OK, but the truck landed on the frontage road (Hooker Creek Road, I believe) and spilled its' contents into the South Fork Eel. Darren said the river is raging right now and the damage would be minimal compared to a low flow period of time.
Darren also said the river was fishing well prior to the latest round of storms, with bait fishermen scoring in the double digits. Pat
