Bill,..... Great article. Lotsa good info for use in fighting large, pelagic fish and sparing the gear from catastrophe. :D :D

One thing that was barely touched upon but very important was physical conditioning. All of those fisherman mentioned in the article were trim and in good shape. One way to insure that we aren't the weak link in the gear is to start a conditioning regimen, now. If you wait until you're close to the point of departure, it'll be too late to make a difference. Conditioning can be complex but may only involve walking and some core strengthening exercises; then some light weights for the arms/legs.... 8) 8)

My work out regimen is/has been, for years, 5 days a week. Involving a combination of cardio, weights and racquetball. I mention this to point out that even with that background, I experienced some exhaustion last summer in the heat/exercise at Mulege. :? :? It's never too late to start. :D :D

Good ideas Darian..............

Andy Guibord is headed down soon to the Amazon and so for the past several months he has been asking veteran Peacock Bassers what they recommend he do to get prepared.

Most said to get in shape for the fight.
