I have been hearing about the big Brook Trout up at Cooper's Minipi for many years now. I think I read about it in a fishing magazine as a youngster.
This is where fly fishing greats like Joe Brooks, Lee Wulff and Ted Williams use to fish a lot.
Our old Joe Shirshac started fishing here with groups of friends about 20 years ago.
The Brookies actually run around 4 pounds on average and are caught to 7 pounds on every trip. Many of these are caught of big may fly dries.
Last summer Keith Kaneko was using a mouse pattern on top and hooked on momentarily that the guide said was around 10 pounds.
The all time area record is 14 pounds, I believe.
Well, this summer I am going with a group through 'Angling On The Fly" travel service.
