Though Doran Park is generally protected a bunch, structure is not readily obvious. Salmon Creek beach, to the north, is much easier to read. It is the wrong time of the season to target halibut in the bay. Generally that option happens from July thru early Oct. There should be some jacksmelt in the bay. The base of the hill near the end of the west jetty and along the channel can be produtive with #10 bugs generally within three feet of the surface. Sometimes we have done well along the end of the wall at Spud Point. It may be a bit early for the rubberlips and other perch to be spawning inside the bay yet.
Good luck and post a report.....
