Bruce got me going on these - they are much easier to cast than the MOAL (Mother of all leeches) as it is wrapped rabbit around a flexible line while this is just a single rabbit strip

Tied on 2 tubes - the back is very short with the tail tied to it and the (upper tube) main body is longer.

Problem has always been the upper tube slides down onto the lower one -some use a toothpick to hold it but Bruce came up with a much better idea - slide a bead on the line and tie the loop long enough to pass through the lower tube to where the hook is looped on - the bead and knot snub up against the upper tube

Boy do they swim in the water!!!

Great looking tubes Rick. Those should work nicely on the coast this winter. I like the two different colors of rabbit strips.

here are some smaller lighter weight options - tied on plastic tubes with not much material - still gives lots of motion but much lighter for casting - tied using Schlappen palmered flat side forward so they give a bigger profile and don't fold over in the water

Rick, is there an attachment between the front and rear tubes? And if there is an attacment, is the long, front rabbit free to move, or plamered to the attachment?

The advantage of not having the rear tube tied to the front, is that the rear tube would snug up to the hook, and auto adjust to the size of the loop

The leader passes through both loops - you need to make the loop long enough so the hook trails slightly behind the rear tube rather than being pulled into it. This gives more flexible mothion. If your loop knot is not large enough to prevent sliding into the front tube, you need to place a bead on the leader above the knot that prevents the front tube from sliding down the leader into the rear tube

The rabbit strip tail is tied to the rear tube and the end of the strip is tied to the rear of the front tube and then teh tube finished off.

IF the strip were shorter, you could likely get away with a free hanging hook without teh rear tube butteh longer the strip the more I would want ot place that second tube
