Peregrine Falcon and American Bittern

Same equipment as usual, these were taken later in the day after the egret. This is also the first Peregrine Falcon i have ever seen, they are incredible.

Paul and I think we saw one on a telephone pole near Quimby Island. I'll have to enlarge the photo and post to see what you think... Of course, the quality is not going to be as nice as these :D

I work on the 27th floor of a downtown high rise with a flat area outside my window. Occassionally a peregrine brings its lunch and dines within ten feet of my chair--quite impressive, if messy.

Unfortunately, lately I've just been seeing his leftovers lying about, which attracts the avian clean up crew.

Frankly, the turkey vultures are a lot less attractive up close than the peregrine. :( Today I had three of them hanging out for about 20 minutes working over the scraps the falcon left behind. :shock:
