What is that first bird? The color is wonderful.

When I was a youngster there was this little hawk we called a "Sparrow Hawk"?

The first two are American Kestral's, and also i looked on google for sparrow hawk and the kestral and coopers hawk were both associated with that name.

Bill. Think WAY back to your childhood days and remember that little hawk named "Henry" and his dump friend "Leghorn" ???? :D

You know...I remember those two birds...so by deductive reasoning Bill must be my age...43?

Very nice images Bolden! So vivid, wow!
What camera and lense did you use?

Nice shots Bolden. That first Kestrel shot is awesome! I see that you are loving that D300. From everything that I have read, that is one bad@ss camera! Of course none of that matter unless you have the skills!

First bird portrait....... American Kestrel, male adult (notice the gray on the wings, the buff patches on the back of the head, and the black tip on the tail).

What a beautiful shot! :P Perfect use of faded background. Thank you for posting it for us to enjoy.
Cheers, Ken
