Bill,

i enjoy your very informative site.

my friend is considering purchasing his first fly rod and would like one similar to mine (home built dan craft sig V). this is a fast rod (extremely fast recovering similar to the sage XP) My signature V 5wt is a three piece and the only faults are the occasional and irksome ferrule slippage. Also like me he would prefer as few ferrules as possible so he's looking for a two piece rod of 5wt and 9'.

in the $100 range.

can you make a recommendation?

i was thinking maybe the temple fork rods might produce something he would like...

or anything of quality used.

thanks for any help/recommendations.

ps: i would also like to query you on building a shooting head for my experimental hotshot switch rods... in a follow up post in the right forum. pls advise

TFO has the 'Signature' series in many sizes.

The 9' #5 in 2 piece is $99 and the best value in the industry.

It has the unlimited lifetime warranty as well.
