Middle Rogue Steelhead

Has been an extremely poor year for both salmon & steelhead on the Middle Rogue in the Grants Pass area. Went wade fishing this afternoon as the water has dropped and caught & released this very pretty 26" wild steelhead on my trusty bead head nymph.

During the years they are more scarce, steelhead appear more beautiful than ever...it takes a dedicated angler to "keep the faith" and hunt them even though it is a "low return" year...the patient angler is rewarded!
