New Member Saying Hello

A new member here saying hello. Relocated back to Los Gatos after living in Portland, OR for the last 8 years. Fell in love with the mighty Deschutes River, the Metolius, and so many rivers of the great Northwest. Worked at a fly shop in Portland called Countrysport, it recently closed. Love fishing for Steelies on the swing, love to nymph for trout. All in all I just love to fish. The highlight of my fishing career was a 8 day float of 97 miles down the Kanektok River in SW Alaska. Truly an amazing river. Wanting to explore the great opportunities that NorCal offers. Anyone in the area wanting to fish would love to tag along. Thanks for a great site and helpful information. Attached are a few photos from the past couple years.

Hi Todd! You're always welcome to fish the delta on the Striper Piper with Paul Egan and me.... San Jose is a little bit of a hike, but believe me, it's worth it! Of course, the delta is a different kind of fishing, a lot of Striped Bass, Large Mouth Bass...

We have some good fly fishing in Nor Cal but like many other places it is mostly about timing.

Winter is Steelhead time and Stripers in the Delta.

Hey Todd,

Welcome back to California. Oregon is a sweet state for fishing for sure. I have a brother who lives up near Portland and I have been up that way to fish the Deschutes and Metolius as well.

I was also fortunate like you to have experienced the Kanektok River doing the same float you did just this last summer. Wow, what a trip that was! In fact I posted a report on it on this board and you can check it out at the following link.

There are some good fishing opportunities here in California, you just got to work at it a little more :D .
