For starters thank you to all that had a hand in this rescue whether they were in the mud or not, anything and everything was helpful. So I am going to give you a view of what I saw and how I felt when I saw it.

Once you park on the levee and walk over to where the fish slide is, this is what you see when you are told where to go to help with the rescue effort.

Then you think to yourself, where is the road, oh wait there it is.

But where is the water with the fish?

Can that really hold fish, no way it is too murky and muddy. But what is that in Dave's net.

Oh look another happy fisherperson. I personally think Robin was having way to much fun.

But where are they going to put those fish?

And the fish keep coming from all the people looking for them.

Yes even largemouth were found.

Now how are these fish getting out of here?

And to the fish's rescue is the greatest vehicle ever made, thank you to whomever brought this beauty out.

And why all this hard effort and trust me , if you were not out there in the much you have no idea what these fish were going through. This is why we did what we did so you can see this when you are on the delta.

To me this is the most beautiful pictures I will ever take, fish that get a 2nd chance.

Thank you to everyone that helped, and you should see the scars on my thumbs from lipping well over 150 fish, they are scars I will never forget. But the sad part of the story is that there are still well over 10-20 thousand fish still out there in conditions that even a catfish would not like. There were areas that have so much fish you couldn't step without walking on them.

Scott, thanks for posting this photo/report for those of us who just couldn't make it. A depressing situation to be sure. I humbly salute and applaud with great respect all of the fellas who were out there making the difference this past weekend.

It must have been a wonderful place for those fish when it had water?

I agree with you Bill Prospect Island was a natural fish nursery for all of the Delta fish. It would been nice to see them breach the levee in a safe way and turn Prospect Island into a Reserue or a fish nursery for all the Delta fish. With all the trouble with the delta our goverment took something good, and turned it into a disaster. If the goverment would have turned it into a Reserue, that would have keep the fishermen and hunters out of Prospect Island and they would have natural fish nursery with low up keep. 8)
