The Port of Sacramento is open, just stay away from the upper East end. Fly fishing the port in the day light is not easy for me. I have been fishing the port for 25 years, and most of the time I fly fish at night. The Port and the deep water channel has some stripers schools and lots, lots of threadfin shad. I fished all day yesterday and caught nothing, but as soon as it got dark i started hooking fish around the docks with the lights. I'm now a member of the Lake Washington Outboard Club, and I feel safer about fishing the Port at night. The Port Security wants you to stay 100 ft. away from any docks or ships in the Port. Does anyone have any ideals about how to hook these stripers in the Port in the day light????? 8)
