I thought about it but, geez, I don't have a very good record fishing for trout at that lake. I think I've gone twice all together in the past and got skunked both times?

Chuck Campana who works at our shop every Sunday is an expert at Rancho Seco.

It has good LMB fishing in the spring, summer and fall.

Winter and early spring is good for planted trout.

The water can be so clear that I would use a clear slow sinking fly line and a fluorocarbon tippet.

It is a very nice fly fishing lake and it is very clear with nice aquatic vegetation.

Some people actually wade the edges on the lake.

HHMMM, lets see.... 2# trout or 10# striper.....I will stick with the Delta.
No, really I like Seco. If your in a boat or something you can stand on, often you can spot pods of fish cruising around; lead them with a good cast and slowly strip a small nymph in front of them. Works durring the spring also.
