American River pretty slow

Well, I fished the American river Fri and Sat mornings for the first time. While I saw plenty of wildlife including the coyote below, I did not see or feel at the end of my line a single fish the whole time. I fished the log hole Fri and Watt Sat and didn't see anyone else catch a fish either. I'll give it a try again in late Dec or early Jan. Here's a few pics of the scenery.
