December is a big month for the big ones to enter the river.

With the low flows I would start down by Cal-Expo/Sac State College/River Park area.

In previous low flow years the entire winter run was held up around the "Log Hole" and that is were about 300 fish spawned too.

Right now they would be fresh and grabby if you can find them.

The Log Hole is located at the end of Carlson Dr. near Sacramento State. There is a little park there: Glen Hall Park. Head over the levee and walk up stream a little way. The Log Hole is where the riffle ends.

Terry

Why don't you take time out from your travels and catch a Steelhead on the Lower A on your Spey rod to get us all excited?
