So I am going to be going up to Tahoe for a week starting Friday. I have absolutely no plans except to relax, play a couple hold-en tournaments, and possibly some fishing depending on responses here.

Where would be a couple nice places to fish that are close and wadeable / walkable?

Truckee River off Glenshire rd or along I80 to Reno

Little Truckee River between Stampede and Boca.

Call Reno Fly Shop for latest reports.

Use a float tube on the Lake, it should only be about 36 or so degrees. :D

Looks like an hour plus for all the decent places. Might just kick it with an adult beverage and tie some....

maybe a trip down to Caples as that last report from there was very nice....who knows.

If you're going to be at the South shore, you might want to check out the East Carson. I believe you can fish from Hangman's Bridge down to the Nevada State line all year round now. Check with the guys at Tahoe Fly Fishing Outfitters for the conditions down there: http://www.tahoeflyfishing.com/

They just stocked the west fork of the carson. Pickets junction in hope valley is only 45 min south from south lake. That area is where I would recommend. E carson/caples hasn't been fishing very well.
