After seeing some of the beautiful photos and talking with winterunron I took a trip up to Burney last week. Camped on Monday at Burney Falls and that was the last dry day I saw. Didn't stop me though as I was up there to fish rain or no rain. Stayed in a cabin on highway 89 for the next 2 days and if anyone is concidering a trip up soon, send me a message as I got a great midseason deal. One free day for every one paid. Ended up costing me $35 a day and the cabin had a fridge, Micro, shower, and heat.

Day one Burney Falls Upper and Lower. Caught fish in both places mainly on Black AP nymphs.

Day 2 I walked the wild section of Hat creek and caught a couple of the prettiest Rainbows? I have seen. FBPT nymph.

Caught a few of these along the way.

All in all an enjoyable but soggy trip. Amazingly never saw a fish rise on the whole trip. Even had some snow on the way back home. I am already making plans for next year.

On amazingly luck thing happend along the way. I was fishing Burney Creek walking under brush and logs making my way along the creek and discovered my zipper pocket in the back of my vest had come undone and my reel with my sink tip on it had fallen out somewhere along the way. I looked and looked for it to no avail. The next day I decieded to look one more time but still nothing. As I had hiked all the way back in I might as well fish my way back to the car. Caught a few small fish along the way and then stopped at a likely looking riffle. Caught a nice fish and when I went to net him I saw my reel 4 feet below in a small pool. Released my fish not stirring up to much mud and grabbed my reel. To catch a fish and find my reel. Doesn't get much better than that....Craig.

p.s. all photos execpt the first were a Pentax Optio.
