Last Saturday I floated the L Sac with a buddy and my roommate guide Ryan Miller. The fishing was pretty good for the most part - if you found active salmon there were plenty of trout behind them. Ryan knew the river well and put us on some active redds where we hooked many trout on egg imitations. We floated from Bonneyview to Anderson and hooked over 30 while landed about 20. Shallow runs with good flow and spawning salmon all held trout that were eager to eat an egg. Here are some shots of the trip and some of the trout we caught-

YES, I am floating next Friday with Ryan. i am so psyched. I am then heading to the upper sac and some other rivvers for sat and sun, anyone else going to be up there and wanna meet up for some wet lines and beers?

P.S> Where would y'all recommend we stay on Fri night after the float?

Plan on leaving early Sat to fish, but would like a watering hole pretty close by!

There's lots of hotels on/around Hilltop Drive where you can walk to bars/clubs/restaurants/etc. They are all good but I would recommend the Hampton Inn on Larkspur Lane. It's very nice, has nice staff, and is within walking distance to everything. Good luck and have fun! If you have time, hit the Trinity. It's only about 1 hr to Junction City from Redding and there are some serious steelhead there right now and it is beautiful.

I second the Hampton Inn recommendation. Newest and nicest hotel in Redding.
