So I broke my 5 weight last week (don't ask how), but I was still dying to fish the A. I asked my kids if I might borrow a TFO nxt rod they share, and both of them said "yes dad...you can borrow our fly rod". Aren't they terrific? They didn't even make me beg or ask for a favor in return.
Now, I haven't caught anything all week, and today was no exception. I was just about to give up when I threw a black bugger with said fly rod into a riffle below me and "BAM"!!! 10 minute fight and to my surprise, I landed this beastie HP! Here's an AVI of me almost losing the fish when I tried to keep him in the water.
