Hello all,
First I would like to introduce myself, I recently moved here from Portland oregon, actually, moved to Mtn. View forr my wife's work. I went to grad school at USU where I earned a degree and much more importantly fell in love with the fly rod. i couuld walk to world class streams from my front door.

SO, We have moved to Mtn. View and now I am in the rat race of the bay area, drooling over fish porn in magazines and living vicariously through my friends on westfly and you on the Kiene board. So Thankyou.

I am going to post a link for my introdcution fish story, if that is customary here, if not, pay no attention

here is the link, I am the one holding the HUGE chrome

Anyway, now, onto the request, I am heading to the N. Cali area for the weekend of October 25. I plan on fishing, with a friend, some streams that leadda into the upper sac. BUT, was planning on getting a guide to float with on Oct. 27. I have called the store up there and they have one guide that has opening that day. BUT, what better place to look than my local fishing board and the knowledge that is here.

SO, PLEASE, if you cold find the time, either PM me or reply if you know of a guide I should check out, I am thinking the lower sac, but am unsure and am willing to do much of anything as far as rivers and guides are concerned. AND OR if you are going to be up that way and want to wwet a line or split a pint let me know.

Alright, enough about me and this, i am going to watch the end of the Indians vs. Yankee's. I am originally fforom Cleveland for the first 18 years of my life, so go Tribe.

Cheers,
and thanks everyone

Welcome!

The guys at The Fly Shop in Redding have TONS of experience on the lower Sac, they fish it every single day and have some major knowledge and will definitely get you into fish. BUT...I am not a fan of their guiding tactics (they deploy about a dozen drifters throughout the entire day and take up practically every run), and all together I think they are far too corporate.

If it were my choice I would give either Fish First! or Chico Fly Shop a call, both are located in Chico, they fish the river a lot, have tons of advice and are excellent guys all together. Plus, they are smaller businesses that are much more customer driven.

Just my opinion. Hope you enjoy your trip. :D

Welcome to the board and Nor Cal. That was a great win for The Tribe last night and I was pulling for them as well. I grew up a Mudhens fan.
There's a couple of guides that work out of Kiene's shop that are excellent. Andy Guibord for The Delta, Bill Carnazzo for Sierra streams and Kieth Kaneko for travel. Tight Lines!

That picture is awesome! You've got to enter that into the newest contest!

Actually Rob should enter that into a landscape contest, not the current waterscape contest.

That really is a beautiful place, you are a lucky man Rob.

If you're looking for a guide for the Lower Sac, then check out Sac River Outfitters. I've been fishing with those guys for the last five years or so, and can't say enough good things.
Their site is: www.sacriveroutfitters.com
Welcome to the board. :)
