I'm heading to Georgia for the next couple of weeks and would like to find some places to fly fish. We will be about 40 miles NE of Atlanta, and also near Columbus GA (Ft. Benning). Any tips will be appreciated for trout, bass, steelies, or ?? I'm leaving Sunday morning.

Thanks!

I don't know if you are going for military business, but I was stationed back in Ft Benning, GA in my younger days. I don't think you will find trout in the water systems there. You can find your warm water species, like Bass, BlueGill, Catfish. In the east, you can fish the coastal waters & look for Alligator Gar & Mullet. Your best for trout in Georgia is in the mountain regions north of Atlanta.
