Fished the Feather River from 5:30 to 7:30 PM tonight at the riffles just below the Hwy 162 bridge. Very crowded... :? What do you expect when salmon season is coming to an end?
I didn't try any swinging, I decided to try an indicator setup with a glo bug and a caddis nymph (advice given to me from the Chico Fly Shop). Lots of salmon, very very little of them fresh. I didn't see the tiniest bit of steelhead action. Unfortunately I hooked into a poor spawning salmon and took him for a ride for a minute or two before he popped off :oops: . Salmon season should already be closed in my opinion it didn't look like there was much of anything fresh to be caught.
Needless to say I won't be trying the Feather again for about another 3 or 4 weeks. :roll:
