...finds an acorn :D

Man this year has been tough for me. I was out thismorning and after 2 hours of poverty, I started dreaming of bass. disecting my garage in my mind, trying to find my bass flies. I was jarred awake by the unfamiliar tug of something truly mean. Suddenly I was looking at more backing than I've seen since mexico.

This fish really suprised me in more ways than one. It didnt look like a rogue fish. It has the look of a coastal fish to me. I was very glad to see it. I hope he survives to spawn with an equal suitor. This is just what the rogue needs for its future steelhead population.

The numbers on the rogue are down this year and we seem to be hiding in the shadow of the klamath. Maybe I'll head down there to sample some of those fish. The rogue has really been a "casting practice river" this year.

Mike

What I didnt mention was the 30+ fishless hours this summer. I have been averaging 1 fish for every 4 times on the river.

Jay sometimes one must put in those 30+ fishless hours. As they can all be forgotten in one rod bending second. That is one beautiful fish!!!! Congrats on a well earned chromer! Kevin

Nice fish Jay. That is one sweet chrome fish. Fish like that make a series of skunkings seem like distant memory.
Hope to make it that far north to try out the rogue one of these years.
Keep the reports coming!

That goes without saying Jay :D You know it is Steelhead fishing!

Just funning with ya! Heading to the "A" this morning and see if the reports of 1/2 pounders are for real!

Going to get a start on my 30hrs. Hopefully I will get it in before I hit the Trinity in a few weeks.
