I think he is going to float a stretch of lower Putah Creek between Winters and Davis in a canoe.
He is looking for people to go with him on Tuesdays and Wednesdays to explore these remote local places.
Andy is using a fast action 7'6" #3 line rod with a WF6F 'Bass' line on it. This is an 'ultra-lite' warm water outift.
We overline at least 2 sizes and sometimes 3 for throwing bigger wind resistant flies. This outfit is perfect according to him especially out of the canoe in heavy cover.
In the Delta with larger bugs we are using a 7 or 8 rod with a 'saltwater' weight forward line that is 2 or 3 sizes over depending on the power of the rod.
Delta top water LMB guide Kevin Doran uses a 7 weight rod with a WF10F and I have used it. It works perfect. Casting is farily short.
I think that some of the guys that are fishing top water 'flies/poppers/sliders' for Stripers are using something like a 10 weight rod with a WF12/13F?
