I will in the area east of Naples in early December on a business trip. I am hoping to squeeze in a half or whole day for fishing while I'm there. Does anyone have any experience/advice for flyfishing around there that time of year? Anybody know if there are any bass fishing opportunities (inc. peacock bass) near there?

Check out the Everglades Angler in Naples.
They have a forum as well on their board.
I booked a guided day through them 2 years ago and had a great time in october for jacks and snook in the 10k island preserve.
They can probably point ya in the right direction for peacock bass in the canals if that is what you're after.

There was an article as well in either flyfishing in saltwaters or fly fisherman maybe 2-3 years ago? about peacock bass fishing in FL. You may be able to find it on their magazine websites.
Hope that helps.

People fish for baby Tarpon and Snook on the Tamiani Trail which is the hwy from Miami to Naples.

I think they call it "alligator alley" in that last stretch that goes through the Everglades?

You can Google or Yahoo all this for some info.
