Yes, guys, they're still around.

Just about the time you think the season is over something changes. In this case the Sac raised its water flows for the past month or so. And, in so doing brought up some of the late arriving fish that were slow to migrate up from the delta in the spring.

A few night ago my next door neighbor(Ken Gustafsen) took this nice hen that had apparently just finished spawning. It maxed out his boga at over 20+ pounds and was skinny as a rail.

Another thing that has caused the bite to start up again around here is the lack of shad. Now that they've finished spawning and left, the stripers are hungry again.

Definitely a good time to get out and give it a go before salmon take the spotlight.
