Aaron and Jason on the North Umpqua River

Aaron called from the Umpqua yesterday.

He said they had each had a half dozen fish come up to the fly on the surface but not many solid takes.

Jason landed a 9 pound hen. Aaron said it was a "screamer" making some really high jumps.

That makes the trip a success as far as I am concerned.

He said they stopped by the Blue Heron Fly Shop a few times and it is a cool Steelheaders fly shop.

They had one more day of fishing, today, before they have to drive home to the real world of work, college and golf.

With all due respect, at last check, "college and golf" is hardly the "real world". :D
