While talking to Oregon based custom rod maker Gary Anderson he relayed to me that my old buddy Al Perryman had caught a nice 6 pound fresh hen Steelhead recently on the Rogue River near Medford.

Gary said they are fishing a little early and late in the day.

The Rogue is a fun river, I caught my first adult steelhead there a long time ago with Gino Bernero.

I have fished that river only 3 times but the more that I fish there the more that I grow to love that fishery.

Here is a downstreamer that I caught during my last trip to the Rogue:

Here is a picture of Gino, and a nice bright steelie.:

I have also caught my first Coastal Cuttthroat, what a beautiful fish, sorry no digital picture only film on that first trip.

I have also caught a nice 2lb trout and a bunch of halfpounders that keep the fishing lively.

Sorry to go on and on but the Rogue is a great river, if you haven't yet fished make a trip and catch yourself a beautiful steelhead.

Nice pictures Adam. I hope to get out on the river this weekend for the first time since May.

Thanks guys, that first steelhead was a great introduction into adult steelhead fishing, it kicked my butt.
