I have not fished this place for years, but when I did, I remember a lot of truck trout being put in. Do they still plant trout there? If so, that would go aways to explain how the smallies there got so big. Question, if anyone knows: Is there a super-big smallmouth breed sort of like the Florida strain largemouth? Or will all smallies grow to giant size in the perfect scenario? In the excitement, I really can't fault the angler if he did think iit was largemouth bass due its size. My eyes would have popped out for sure. Cool that these fish are so close by. HC
