The last time i left these hawks were when there was just the mom and dad and eggs. This is the first time back since montana,

Bolden,

Like everyone in the past has mentioned, your photography is outstanding. The composition is super, the subjects are fantastic.
Are you in the business or going to school and majoring in photography.

I did this many moons ago. I attended Brooks School of Photography for a few years before I got frustrated with a couple of the instructors and quit. I was into the wedding photography business for a couple of years, but that's back when they used powder for the flash :). At that time, I was doing my own developing and color printing. This is now a lost art since the invention of digital. Yes, I still shoot "Chrome". Fujichorme Velvia. I've also done some landscape and freelancing photo's.... I've had a few photo's shown in National Geographic when they ran an article on the Monterey Peninsula. One photo was a shot of the Lone Cypress and the other one was a shot of green at Pebble Beach.
My most memorable adventure in photography was with Ansel Adams in Yosemite. A pretty tough old dude but you came away with alot of knowledge. I also had connections through relatives to visit his house in Carmel Highlands.

I say, "keep up the great work". I love viewing your shots

No i am not in any type of photography school or class, in fact i have learned everything myself. I am currently at CSUS to
get my math teaching credential, which i should have in about two years. I really want my summers off to fish.

Photography as a job would be something i would absolutely love to do. Right now i feel as though i have a ways to go to reach
the level i would need in order to actually make a living off of it. On our way home from montana my dad and i stopped at Thomas
Mangleson's gallery in Ketchum, ID. I was just blown away by his photography, and it was exactly the type of stuff i love,
animals and outdoor landscapes. I know i am a harsh critic of my own work, but the large majority of my pictures were crap
compared to his. He does has quite an advantage though, 6 months a year he travels to take pictures, he has the best equipment,
and of course he has many years of photography under his belt. I guess for only 1 year of owning an SLR i should be quite happy with my stuff.

Anyway, I know that as i am teaching in the future i will make money off of photography, but i am not sure how far i will get.
Maybe someday i can just fish and take pictures as a career.

Here is Thomas Manglesons website, the limited edition prints were the best. He had some monstrous panoramic prints, 22"x68",
which were amazing. http://www.mangelsen.com/

Your photos are way better than many people out there doing it for a living. :D The photo you took of Caples lake is my favorite . It reminds me of the Cover shot of a special edition book that just came out by National Geographic called The Last Unspoiled place. Its a book about Logan Canyon here in Cache Valley.

I would love to make some money at landscape and wildlife photography . :D I just don't have the money to get a good telephoto lens. :( Those suckers are big $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ I hope to start selling landscape photos as soon as i get a decent portfolio of landscape shots. I am having a 20 X 30 '' print made of one of my photos , I am waiting to see how well it turns out. We just had a big art show here in Cache Valley and some of the photos just blew me away. There was a guy from Colorado that had some of the most beautiful photos of the arches in southern Utah !! He uses a 4 x6 film camera. Most of the best landscape photographers around here still use film cameras . Photography has always been my #1 hobby. In 1981 i entered a world wide photography contest ( my wife idea ) , I did not think i was good enough, but came in first place 1 st place .

Here is a picture of the book below .
Which Cody and I are in !! The author needed some info on fly fishing Logan canyon and for some reason :?: someone told him we knew how . So he followed Cody and i around for a few hrs. :D I thought he would take a few notes about fly fishing , but he put everything Cody and i said, word for word in the book .

Anyway you do great work , keep it up !! :D :D
I wish i would have done more when i was younger ,but hope to have the chance now that i am semi retired . :D
