Hit another valley stream today with David Lee, in search of the notorious and deadly Red-Eye Bass. Although we had many encounters with them, even handling them at times, we escaped with all our digits intact. Mostly. Took a few pics of the heathen beasties, don't let the children view these right before bedtime. They're pretty little suckers .......

To ME , they look a lot like Spotted Bass , with the exception of tails tipped w/ White . Hordes of 'em out there but we couldn't see many over 8 inches . For living in the most popular swimmin' hole east of I-50 .... they didn't have much company - no swimmers , no partiers , and no fisherfolk .

Might have something to do with the horrible parking 'issues'     :ninja:

The water temps varied from luke-cool to bathtub warm , super clear . The company was great , as usual , and the Redeyes were a nice change .

Fun , fun , fun !!!!!

David :D

I've caught alot of red eyes in lakes and the biggest I have ever seen was maybe a pound, it has always seemed like the red eyes were runts, nothing of real size. Or maybe when they got bigger they lose the red coloring in the eyes. But I do remember the first time I caught one, I had never heard of red eye bass, we thought it was a demon bass.
