Many 'flat landers' go to our beautiful high country fisheries in July, August and September to beat the Valley heat.

Mid-summer is when these fisheries are good too.

You can back pack into some great places or arrange for one of the dozen or so California horse packing companies to take you into some spectacular back country.

A horse pack trip can be merely having the packers take you and your gear up to a pristine place and drop you off and then pick you up in a few days to a week or more. This is not expensive and does allow you to take everything, including "the kitchen sink".

Deluxe pack trips can be arranged with packers, a fishing guide and a cook with great meals all inclusive. Naturally this is more expensive but still a great value and a trip to remember as well.

We have done these trips in the past so if you need any help just drop us a line or come by the shop.

We have had group trips with the 'Reds Meadow Pack Station' west of Mammoth, CA and also 'Kennedy Meadows Pack Station' east of Stockton, CA.
