Fishing has been tough to say the least. While we have boated four dorado in four days, all were caught trolling. We did get a shot at two very small dorado under a paddy and ticked one with a hook but no hook up. None of the fish caught trolling hoochies had any followers.
Today we went out 25 miles only to be blown out once there and had to turn around and come in. On the way in we had a couple of marlin, looking like blues, chasing the hoochies. One even grabbed one and stripped some line only to LDR before we could even pick up the rod.

On day two we located some roosters but couldn't get a grab. On day three we tried all kinds of things to get a hookup and finally caught one on a live mackerel. And yes guys, we did try trolling flies as well.

We've caught our share of triggers, groupers and cabrilla but the big three, sails, dorado and roosters are either hard to find or tough to hook.

The wind has been a problem for two out of the four days and it's supposed to blow tomorrow as well. We'll probably give the roosters another shot and have some new plans on how to get bit. If all else fails we'll go clamming.

Ouch!

Look on the bright side, It can only get better. It will. You guys are there long enough to see a change I believe. What kind of water temps are you seeing?

Jay, we've found lots of 82-84 degree water and strings of paddies but no fish.
