I didnt know exactly where to post this thread, but since its got a lot of (crummy) photos, I'll post it here.

We were greeted to southern baja with mild temperatures and a nice south swell. The water fluctuated between the mid 60's and 70.

I forgot just how much i love bodysurfing. It had been a long time and I truly enjoyed the pounding :D

I did manage a few casts between wave sets, with nothing to show for it

A school of goatfish. This school contained 1000s of fish and may have covered 3000 sq. ft.!

The westin regina resort. A very classy place. A little above my standards  We had a 1/2 off deal for the resort so we stayed there 5 nights of our trip.

Here are a few photos from the morning on the panga. The pictures of the larger fish didnt turn out worth a darn...go figure.

This is a desert iguana. My son wanted so badly to catch one, that we took some pretty extreme measures in our attempt. Picture this... A father and son, scaling the rock cliff next to the resort (where everyone else is sitting by the pool and sipping cocktails) with a noose fashoned from a TiCrX 12 wt. trying to lasso a big lizard....

I hope all these photos arent too boring. I know this is a flyfishing board and the story only contains minimal flyfishing.

The photos weren't boring at all, very inclusive. Great pictures. that looks like a beautiful hotel, those were pretty roosters, overall it looks like one hell of a vacation.

Thanks guys!

Bill, This place is about half way between san jose del cabo and cabo san lucas. It cannot be seen from the road. When you are headed sw on the highway there between sjdc and cabo, there is a Pemex gas station on the right. The turn in to the westin resort is just over the next rise on your left. There is one of those huge cell towers that look like a palm tree on top of the mountain that looks over the westin. You will see the sign for the Westin Regina at the turn in.

Be prepared for rediculous rates. We reserved this place (basic oceanfront room) a long time ago with a 1/2 price coupon. which was still ove $200/night. While milling around the front desk, I read that our room was now going for over $600/night! Its nice and fancy and all that, but I prefer the Coral Baja, where you can get a 1 room condo with full kitchen for $100/night.

Here are a couple more pics of the Westin.

And this is a picture of the Coral Baja from a bodysurfer/swimmer point of view. The other thing about the coral baja is it has potential for excellent beach fishing. On this trip, there were a dozen pangas fishing every morning just outside the breakers and getting good action on roosters jacks and pompano.
