View Full Version : Sierra Lake Fishing

Fished a Sierra Lake with a friend from float tubes on Sunday. We were not alone. Several others fishing as well but plenty of room for all. Calm morning, intermittent wind in the afternoon, cold water.

Landed lots of browns and a few rainbows, perhaps 30 between us. Not a lot of bug activity, but emerging nymphs and caddis drys worked for us. One stonefly kept me company for a bit. Nothing really big, although we did land a few good sized rainbows. But lots of fun with a 3 wt and intermedate line. All were released.

Beautiful scenery and very quiet. Here's a few pics to get you motivated...

Very very pretty fish and background. How high up were you? I would guess 5k ish?

The hotter it gets here the better the Sierras look. I like your buggy friend. Ed
