Fished Baum Lake both Saturday and Monday. The fish were very selective. I never did key into what they were taking. After the hatch slowed down about 10:30, I cast a scud imitation and was almost constantly hooked up. The fly was tied on a #8 or #10 with a few sparse olive maribou tips for the tail, olive maribou wound tightly up the hook for the body, a reddish hackle palmered sparsely up the body for legs and an olive maribou shell back, stretched tight over the back.
The original pattern came from The Fly Shop and the materials I listed are my best guess of what the fly was constructed of.
For the first time ever I didn't find a large school of planters at the point where the creek empties into the lake, willing to take olive woolly buggers.
