Here's the shad count for the 3 day weekend:

Sat: 15
Sun: 13
Mon: 8

Most were caught in the upper A. Got chased out of my favorite spot by spin bobber guys that showed up and started casting over my line. I went downstream and only got a couple of bumps so I bailed. Jeff C.

Hate to give it away guys and girls, but I caught a few at lower Sunrise where the lower Shad hole used to be (before it filled in with higher flows the last couple of years) Talk to Chuck at the shop. A buddy and I did pretty well there. :D

Thanks for the details Mike N

That helps me to be more close to right in my recommendations to new Shad chasers.

Sounds like the fish might be scattered out through the river?

That was a type 3 head, by the way.

Thanks Mike

With the river at 1500 cfs I guess a type 3 sinkrate is about average?

Do you think early and late in the day is best?

Yes, Bill early and late is the best but I've been getting them even in the middle of the afternoon. Type II shooting head and a Lee S. Surf Candy has been the winning combo. Lee S., let me know when you're coming up. Jeff C.

Fished Howe from 10 to 10:45 and landed 3. Teeny 200, 4' of 4x, orange v rib w/white marabou tail. Was driving by and had an hour to kill.

I rarely get up early to fish. I like to fish after dinner when the boss lets me. Most times I fish when I can, so I guess any time is the best time for me.
