Fished La Playa today and did exellent. A small pargo, small cabrilla, rooster around 8lbs and at least 2 dozen of something called Bonita?????
Each captain has a different name for it. Looks like a jack but has a pointed nose. I´ll find out what the real name is because I had Jonathan Roland out in front of me catching them. They are suppose to be excellent eating. My captain Roman kept as many as I could catch yesterday. With Jonathan in close throwing bait for his clients, that brought the fish to me within kicking distance. They were actually swimming around my feet

had a chance to look through my tropical saltwater species book. The fish was a big eye jack. Looked different from the ones I caught in the past.
the weather was getting warmer today but hot for others. The wind has died down and this should improve the fishing over the next few days and weeks.
Hopefully the shot at a marlin will come next week. Gotta try out the new rod.

can´t wait for some shad fishing. Are they in yet?
