I know we like to travel to foreign destinations for saltwater fly fishing but we actually have some great opportunities right here on our coasts.

The entire east coast of the United States has great coastal saltwater fly fishing which is mostly spring, summer and fall. The top 80% is Stripers, Bluefish, False Albacore for the most part. Southern east coast has Redfish, Tarpon, Bonefish, Permit, jacks, Seatrout for just starters.

The east coast has offshore too.

The entire Gulf Coast has some really wonderful tropical fisheries too. Redfish and Seatrout abound with jacks, Snook and Tarpon as well.

On the West Coast we have a variety of fish like Salmon, Stripers, Steelhead, Surf Perch, halibut and rock fish to the north. Down south we have Calico Bass, Sea-bass, Bonito, Albacore, Yellow-tail and more.

Timing is import but with the Internet we can get all that pretty well figured out now.
