Hi everyone!
Just a quick fishing report.
Went fishing with a mate this morning to try out our new outfits!
We each bought a 7wt xi2 sage and a sage 2580 reel to suit.
Unfortunately we bought them for christmas island but that is not till july, so we have to test them on less exciting local species!
The wind was blowing at about 10-15 knots so casting on the open waters of the lake was not overly easy with new outfits, but they are superb.
We fished for about 4 hours for 3 small yellowfin bream a pike and a long tom so it's pretty quite, but at least it's fishin!!!

Have you been to Christmas Island before?

They use Australian money there.

G'Day Mako !

Have you made the long trip to Faust or Awoonga yet ??

Do you have any links to OZO fish photos on line ?? Most Yankees don't have a clue to what Australian fish species look like ....

Don't forget to take a 12 wt. to Xmas for the Trevors

Hi David,
I haven't been to the dams as yet,but the few reports i have heard are a few smallish barra's and a few metre fish but nothinng huge.
A couple of mate's were at Awoonga last week and they got a few small fish the biggest was about metre and 3 cm or 30 pounds there abouts which as you know is not huge, but still nice fish!.
With weight restrictions on the airlines i am only taking the 7wt and 9wt sage rplx.i
We have a similar but not quite as active forum type board like this one called flyangler.com.au
Unfortunately i don't know how to make it into a link, sorry!!
They have an international and a domestic species list, which covers all our species with photo's.
We need a bit of international chat in our forum's,so don't be shy and introduce yourselves!
No Bill, i haven't been there before, but mate's of mine have and they have nothing but good things to say about it.
I know they take the aussie dollar thank god!or it would be out of most people's price range i think.
A friend of mine has just ordered 4x 7wt rio tropical tapers for me through you guy's.
He lives in Chicago, but he is an aussie and he is coming home for a wedding and bringing them back for me! :D
So you even have aussie's bying your gear.
