I was just curious if you guys have a real simple large minnow pattern that I could use for bass as a subsurface fly? I'm looking for something around 5-8 inches. If you have a recipe for tying that would be great but I could probably just wing it by site if you have a picture. Thanks.

P.S. I also would like to hear your guys' opinions on the best carp fly.

How about one of Andy Burk's minnow patterns (Shad colors), a Rainbow Trout pattern like Andy Guibord's Striper Caviar or a Deciever :?: :?:

Real simple but very effective large minnow subsurface pattern for bass? For me it's a Clouser -- my go-to largemouth bass subsurface pattern when I can't get them on top.

Look up Embellished Lefty's Deceiver in 1st quarter 2006. It gets tossed around here a lot when the big fish are eating little fish.

I was going to say clouser or deceiver for sure.

Those patterns all seem to look easy enough. I'll try to put one together, I don't usually use all the fancy eye pieces and stuff when fishing for large bass in mucky ponds, the fly is usally pretty torn up within 5 or 6 fish! Thanks for all of the information guys.
