Well, made my 1st foray out to the Delta since early last December to one of my favorite spots. Fished for 2 hours from 10:00 - 12:00 with a size 2 chartreuse/white Clouser on a floating line out of the inflatable kayak. Mainly curious about how the water had changed, as it always does every year over the winter, in both obvious and subtle ways. Forgot the thermometer so didn't know the water temp but it was cold. Water visibility was fairly good, though, and the water was more green than brown. Was fairly calm when I got there but the wind picked up soon thereafter:

Didn't do squat for the first hour and a half or so, until the tide started coming in really well. Started casting into the tide outside of a submerged weedline and hooked up on this:

I know, terrible picture. He was only about 15" but put a nice bend in the 7 wt. Thought it was a real nice largemouth until he headed for deeper water and started swimming back and forth all over the place. Fun fish.
About a 100 yards further up the weedline, as I was making my way back to the car, I hooked up on this chunky fella:

Good, hard-fighting fish, I had fun with this one. He even took a little leap out of the water in the middle of the fight about 25 feet away. All in all, it was a fun and relaxing way to spend a morning. And to think it's only going to get better. . . . Gotta love the Delta! :D
