I think it is light now till about 7:30pm now.

During the week you should put some "bass & panfish" tackle in the car and head out after work for that evening top water bight if the weather is warm. Many local ponds are waiting for you.

Also if you put some waders and a light fly rod in the trunk there are some nice small/medium size Steelhead in the lower American river eating caddis and small salmon now too. There are some spring run Halfpounders (12"-20") in there and Spring run wild adults Steelhead that run 4 to 6 pounds too. Evening fishing on the rivers is really a treat now with these unusually low spring flows.

Don't miss this opportunity to fish locally right after work during the week while it is not 100 degrees.

April, May and June are top months for fishing down here at sea level.

Soon Stripers and Shad will be entering the lower American River too.
