I love to fish but I also love photography and I like to challenge myself so here goes. I know it's early but how about a spring photo thread letting us all see how it looks where you are. Here is one I took last year in Fairfax to get us started. I promise a new one when I get a chance...Craig.

Here is some old stuff. Flowers are slowing starting to show up in the back yard, so hopefully new stuff will show up soon.

Boy if this dang weather here in Oregon would ever let up maybe we could participate in this thread also. It's sure nice to see your spring photo's guys and right now I would just settle for the river going down enough to catch a steelhead and take it's picture.

Hey bolden nice shots! I know I am early but I have spring fever.

Sculpin I don't want to hear any complaining I lived in the Applegate Valley last year and I know how beautiful Southern Oregon is in springtime. I am guessing by your reply the Rouge is blown out but where I live now I would love to have the proximity to fishing like I did last year. By the way a Spring Steelhead is legal in this thread as I started it and get to make the rules. By the way did you get any snow on Table Rocks this year?..Craig

Craig
I have a view of the Table Rocks from my house and there has been snow on them and everywhere else in the Valley this year. Actually it has snowed several times on the valley floor this past week. You're right about it being beautiful here when the spring weather finally arrives and You guessed correctly about the river conditions being tough so far this year.

Technically these are not a sign of spring, as they were a gift to my parents, but they are colorful anyway.

Most of these are straight out of the camera with the vivitar series 1 90mm 2.5, with the real close ups i had
my 50mm 1.8 reversed onto the front of the vivitar.

I was trying to use the colorful background of some of the bigger flowers to make some really colorful shots.

The gecko is a gold dust day gecko which can be found on most of the islands now but is endemic to Madagascar. My boys have a couple in an aquarium in the living room that we brought back from Mauii. Herpetology is my other hobby.

Nice pics.

It is supposed to be almost 80 degrees  on Sunday so I may have to skip spring and go for summer shots :D...Craig.

Adam,
Well thats a long story. :? I Actually own 3 different digital cameras(we wont speak of the 35mm film cameras that I hardly ever use, my wife might get mad).

A Nikon D70, Sony Mavica(which shot this photo)great for portraits and closeups without a tripod and my fishing camera a pentax optio wp.

Now if only I could figure out a way to get my hands on boldens 300 F4.

Craig.

Craig, I wish I had that many cameras. I'd love to buy an SLR, but I have to choose whether to feed myself or take pictures..... a very difficult decision

There are some indications Winter will actually end some day here in the Rogue Valley. The Daffodils popped out and this is my fist try at close up flower shots.

Hey Jay
With the river being screwed for up for so long it's funny what a guy will do for entertainment. Diane has been gone for over a week and I had big plans for a week long fishathon but haven't been out even once. :-({|=

Hey sculpin don't let them make you feel bad. Sell one of those Dafodill photos and you might be able to buy a new fly rod. :D

Adam, there are many ways to afford camera gear besides $. By my occupation you can tell I am no moneybags. The Pentax was a gift from my work after I donated images for 5 years. The Nikon was something I wanted so I sacraficed a winter and worked my regular job plus a seasonal position at UPS. 13 hour days make me appreciate the camera all the more. Plus now I have time to go fishing again :D.

Milkmaids and Hounds tongue were blooming in the park but with all the beautiful weather I was to busy to get any photographs, plus bolden has me ispired to chase hawks and falcons all day.

Enjoy the weather all.( at least in Norcal)

You guys are all putting me to shame!

bolden, what are you using as a backround thos flowers really pop against that white. I especially like the yellow one(sunflower?). and the spring blossom says just that Spring..even if it was over 80 degrees.

bruno, that reminds me of my moving last year I would go from southern Oregon to Petaluma every two weeks to visit my wife who was working and finishing out the lease as I was camping in my parents living room. Every trip I would take 5 to 505 and watch the sunflowers grow. I only stopped once to take photos though. Nice shots. With your son in there it really gives a great perspective...Craig.

I was just using a the back of a big piece of poster board that i have a piece of art on. It really does give it a great affect.

Here are a few from past years. I'm in Idaho right now and tried to get a few flower shots today. Pretty much impossible without a tripod. Oh and the weatherman's call for 30% chance of showers was a little bit of an under estimate, it's been DUMPING. These shots remind me of the dry sunny days of California Spring.

Way to go guys I am loving all the photos here. Bolden you can even catch bees in flight. Impressive. I set out 25 bluebird boxes in the park this year and was hoping for the ultimate bluebird shot for this thread but alas no birds yet so here are soome others from this week.
