A couple of Board members came to Sacto to do the American and get a Spey casting lesson from Jeff Putnam. 8) 8) 8) Met up with Paul C. and Tim near Rossmore Bar on Friday afternoon and shared some time watching them do some indicator fishing.... Not much action. lotsa wind. Their guide (David Lee) contributed to the witty banter.... Paul and tim are both accomplished indicator guys.... 8) 8) After watching these two for a while, I conluded that I gotta get busy and practice. :? :?

Met Paul, Tim and Jeff at Watt Ave., today and tried to pick the feel for Spey casting by something similar to osmosis.... 8) 8) Definitely a timing thing.... The pic's attached show the threesome sharing info and practicing.

If any of you get a chance to fish with either or both of these guys, go for it. 8) 8)

I think I saws you guys this morning as I drove over the bridge. I fished near there the Friday evening and got skunked, again. MSP must have fished it recently. At least I saw a few suckers rolling and a few caddis popping while I fished.

Hey Guys,
Tim & I definitely had a fun time out there exploring the waters.
Muchos gracias for David showing us around and had a great time shooting the breeze with Darian.
We saw alot of water in the few days out there and did more exploring than anything. No luck on the fish, but definitely a great time on the water.
Swung a bit, bobbicatored a bit, and explored a bit.
Saw some birds diving on one riffle...salmon smolt maybe?
Stopped by the shop to pick up a hat (dog ate my fishing hat) and some tying materials. Definitely a nice shop you guys have up there!
The casting class with Jeff was great. Nice dude, killer cast with the spey rod. Will have to work a bit in the harbor inlet to practice what he showed us.
I might just be able to get out to those bigger halibut mid harbor entrance with little effort....

Overall, a great time out there and was nice to meet Darian and David in person. Hope to make it out again sometime soon.
