Just got back from the south fork eel. Fished that same run that Bruce took a picture of and many other good ones. No luck for my dad and I. The water is way low and clear and looks like the low flow closure will probably go into effect for many north coast rivers tomarrow. Beautiful river and i cant wait to get back up there and learn more of it.

Now the next time you go you will know more about the river than you did.

I hope the river is coming back now.

I have only fished it down low in the tide water near Ferndale/Fortuna.

yeah - any time Bruce fishes without me he gets fish but when he and I fish - no dice!! Fished Saturday and Jason is right - the south fork is getting too low - sitll some good runs though. Bruce and I headed to the main stem and fished a nice run up from the forks - had one on for a head shake but that was it - went down river around the Holmes area - nice runs with more water but still very clear - one good storm should improve things!

Still a very pretty place and great fly water in the right conditions

Man that water is scary low though for this time of year.

The water is scary low up there. I think we would have been better off on the main stem but it was fun to try the south fork. Nect time i will have to give the main stem a try but i think i might just have to wait until we get a little rain.
