Small Honda boat motor wanted

I like the 2hp Honda at 27# and around $900 new.

I like the 4 hp Yamaha at 48# and about $1300 new.

I think Yamaha makes a 2.5hp now too.

Getting the right shaft length is important. 90% of the time on most small boats it is the 'short shaft' which is 16" at the transom. Some take a 20" 'long shaft' like maybe drift boats.

I don't know if all the brands have the integrated gas tank like the 4 HP merc, but that is the only way to go. That motor will go for several hours on one tank. It's nice to not have a tank to worry about.

Thanks, guys...I found a 2 HP 4-stroke Honda (new) at the Sac ISE show and got it for $830. As Bill Kiene said, it weighs only 27 pounds (dry), and it has an integral gas tank. Sweet!
